ANDY PRESENTS NOTHING SPECIAL!

Warhol’s world of A's and B's was elusive and exclusive and each factory character was infamous if not famous.  

During the summer of 1968, one of the more nefarious acolytes, Jimmy Smith, stole a Warhol "time capsule" and used it as collateral to live at the Chelsea Hotel.  In 1987, the box tumbled from the drop ceiling of a coat closet— and Warhol scholars were looking at a windfall of materials concerning the mysterious factory persona, "Nothing Special." 

Nothing Special—or Elly, Ally, Ellroy, Ellery, Allison, A1, Al, etc.—is the subject of a series of short films recovered from the Smith time capsule.  Was it a man or was it woman?  Did Andy love it?
